AArete adds two managing directors to healthcare consulting practice

AArete, a Chicago-based management and technology consulting firm, has hired Pam Price and Gina Hedstrom as managing directors in its healthcare consulting practice.

Based in Vero Beach, FL, Pam Price will lead AArete’s Medicare Advantage consulting practice. She brings more than 35 years of healthcare industry experience, with extensive expertise in Medicare Advantage revenue optimization, provider engagement, and financial operations.

Price most recently spent eight years with Deloitte, where she was a specialist leader focusing on Medicare Advantage risk adjustment. Before that, she was a director for risk adjustment solutions at Verscend Technologies, VP for client services at Verisk Health, and CFO at BioZone Scientific and Quality Medical Care.

Price began her career at Bristol-Myers Squibb, where she spent 12 years and was latterly director of finance.

She has an MBA from New York University and a bachelor’s degree in business economics from UC Santa Barbara.

Based in Fort Myers, FL, Gina Hedstrom will serve as a managing director in AArete’s payment intelligence practice, leading strategic initiatives in payment accuracy, automation, and data innovation.

Hedstrom brings more than 20 years of experience in transforming payer and provider operations in the US. She has deep expertise in health payer policy optimization, claims adjudication, utilization management, credentialing, and medical record audits.

Hedstrom previously spent 17 years with UnitedHealth Group, where she was director of healthcare payment analytics within the Optum division. She also previously served as director of clinical performance management and customer solutions and as an operations manager for clinical programs.

Hedstrom has a PhD in health care administration from the University of Phoenix, an executive MBA from the University of Texas at San Antonio, a bachelor of surgery from the University of Miami, and a bachelor’s degree in pre-medical studies from Cardinal Stritch University. Hedstron is a registered nurse.

AArete in June received a strategic investment from Parthenon Capital, a Boston-based private equity firm.

The consultancy was founded in 2008 and provides strategy, profitability improvement, data and analytics, and technology services to healthcare, education, financial services, and public sector clients. It has more than 500 people across offices in the US, UK, and India.
