Boston Consulting Group expands in Egypt with larger office in Cairo Festival City

Boston Consulting Group, a leading global strategy consulting firm, has officially opened its new Cairo office to further strengthen its presence and support its growth in Egypt.
Boston Consulting Group (BCG) launched its office in Egypt in 2020, right at the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Under the leadership of Bassem Fayek, the office’s first hire and now Managing Director & Partner, the Cairo team has grown to an established hub within BCG’s network in the MENA region.
In Egypt, BCG focuses on advising government institutions on national priorities and emerging topics, and supports private sector companies with strategic transformation, operations, innovation, and growth. The consulting firm also works with private equity funds on mergers & acquisitions and value creation.
Examples of projects include serving as strategic advisor to the East Mediterranean Gas Forum – a platform established in 2020 to help unlock the full gas resource potential in the Eastern Mediterranean through structured policy dialogue and cooperation. Egypt is one of the seven EMGF member countries, with the US, the EU and the World Bank acting as observers.
The firm’s Egyptian team also helped the government grow and build more streamlined supply chains in its agricultural sector – a key goal of Egypt’s Vision 2030 agenda, and served as the exclusive strategic partner for the COP27 conference held in November 2022 in Sharm El-Sheikh.
Larger office
To accommodate the growth of the Cairo team, BCG this month moved to a brand new and larger office at Cairo Festival City.
In a post on LinkedIn, Adham Abouzied, Managing Director & Partner at BCG, stated: “We delighted to be embarking on our next chapter in Cairo. The new office is a strong statement of our growth and ambition in Egypt. What makes me proudest is the team: bold, entrepreneurial, uncompromising on excellence. Together, we have created an office that radiates energy, ownership, and momentum.”
Patrick Dupoux, a Managing Director & Senior Partner and member of the Executive Committee, stated: “It’s great to see our Cairo team moving to a larger office. It’s a testimony to the amazing team led by Bassem Fayek and Adham Abouzied. So much progress has been booked since the early days and there remain so many opportunities ahead.”
BCG’s peers
Egypt hosts most of the world’s leading consulting firms, but the strategy segment remains less represented. While McKinsey & Company and Strategy& have long-established offices in Cairo, firms such as Bain & Company, Oliver Wyman, and Roland Berger don’t have a local base, instead serving the Egyptian market through their broader MENA footprint.
