Berkeley Research Group (BRG), an Emeryville, CA-based management consulting firm, has hired Alexandra Sawyer as a director in its financial institution advisory practice and Jennifer Wren as an associate director in its global construction practice.

Based in Washington, DC, Sawyer brings more than 25 years of experience advising financial services firms on risk mitigation and complex change initiatives. She has extensive expertise in governance, data, systems, and key banking business processes.

“Alexandra has a strong reputation for steering large, multidisciplinary teams through challenging regulatory landscapes at some of the largest banks in the world,” said Paul Noring, a managing director and leader of BRG’s financial institution advisory practice. “Her depth of experience and collaborative approach align seamlessly with our commitment to support prominent organizations across the financial sector with practical, results-driven solutions.”

Sawyer joins BRG from Guidehouse/Navigant, where she spent nearly two decades and was latterly a director.  Earlier in her career, she was a senior consultant at Andersen and a consultant at Capital Advisory Services.

Sawyer has a bachelor’s degree in accounting information systems from James Madison University.

Based in Atlanta, Wren brings more than 25 years of experience in forensic accounting and data analysis, with a focus on the construction sector. She specializes in evaluating allegations of fraud, analyzing cost and delay claims, and preparing detailed financial reporting to support complex litigation.

“Jennifer’s experience in forensic accounting, fraud examination, and construction disputes will be an immediate asset to our team and to companies facing significant financial challenges,” said Terry Yeager, leader of BRG’s global construction practice in Atlanta.

Wren previously spent 26 years with Nicholson Professional Consulting, a construction sector specialist firm, where she was a senior accountant and claims consultant.

She has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Reinhardt University and is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and an associate member of the American Bar Association.

BRG was founded in 2010 and has 1,600+ employees across 40+ global offices. The firm provides expert and consulting services in disputes and investigations, corporate finance, and performance improvement.

BRG recently appointed Rosa Abrantes-Metz as global leader of its digital economy and platform markets practice.
