Cal Athletics and Learfield Expand Relationship, Adding Learfield Amplify Development
Cal Athletics and Learfield – the media and technology company powering college athletics – have announced an expansion to their existing relationship to now include Learfield Amplify Development, adding to Learfield Amplify’s comprehensive Ticket Sales, Premium Sales, and Customer Service Team already in place in Berkeley.
Learfield Amplify Development will work directly with the Cal Athletics Fund to grow year-round philanthropic support for Cal Athletics’ teams, programs, and initiatives through the addition of an associate director of development focusing on leadership gifts. The guiding philosophy of Cal Athletics and the Cal Athletics Fund is to provide all 850 student-athletes with a world-class experience.
With the addition of Development, Learfield has hired former Cal baseball student-athlete Matt Ladrech to serve as associate director of development. After graduating from Cal in 2019, Ladrech spent a year playing professional baseball before building a career in business development in the tech space.
“We are excited to expand our work with Learfield and further enhance our partnership via Learfield Amplify,” Cal Senior Associate Athletic Director, Development and Chief Development Officer Beth Tafolla-Voetsch said. “Matt is a great addition to our team, and we look forward to continuing to develop strategies that drive and inspire philanthropic support for our programs and the department.”
Cal Athletics’ relationship with Learfield includes its flagship multimedia rights division, licensed merchandise agency CLC, digital ticket and marketing platform provider Paciolan, and digital solutions leader SIDEARM Sports.
