Capco appoints Anil Nanda as UK and Europe head of payments
Global management and technology consultancy Capco has appointed Anil Nanda as its new head of payments for the UK and Europe. Based in London, he joins the senior leadership team within Capco’s expanding UK and global banking and payments practice.
Speaking on the challenge ahead, Nanda commented, “Companies across the payments value chain need to deliver exceptional end-user experiences and ensure technology, data and operations platforms are transformed to drive revenue, cost efficiency and control. Capco is uniquely positioned to be the technology and consulting partner of choice for payment players, and I’m very excited to take on this new role.”
According to Nanda, the payments industry is undergoing “significant change and disruption” at present. Alternative payment methods like digital wallets, account-to-account, and buy now, pay later continue to gain popularity. As a result, regulators are having to respond to innovation, while looking to ensure efficiency and consumer protection through initiatives such as the Single Euro Payments Area, the EU’s Payment Services Directive and Instant Payments Regulation – meaning there are many fronts where Capco’s clients are having to adapt fast.
As an experienced leader with over 20 years of financial services and consulting expertise, Nanda will help to support those changes. He joins from Bain & Company, where he was an operating partner focusing on payments and financial services. Prior to that role, he led strategic partnerships for the cyber and intelligence business unit at Mastercard ensuring the safety and security of global payments and the wider digital ecosystem, and also headed the Mastercard Advisors business across the Middle East and North Africa. Earlier in his career, he also held roles at McKinsey & Company and JPMorgan Chase.
He joins Capco’s global banking and payments practice. The UK team is led by Tony Prestedge, a Capco partner and formerly the deputy chief executive of Santander UK.
Prestedge added, “I am delighted to welcome Anil to his new role and to the B&P leadership team. Capco has a long and successful track record in partnering with banks and payments providers to build impactful data, transformation and technology strategies. To build on that heritage, we are now putting a renewed focus on helping our clients accelerate innovation in payments, banking and lending, cost transformation, regulation and risk management and operating model development.”
