Dark Horse CPAs promotes Brady Kelly to principal
Accounting and tax firm Dark Horse CPAs has promoted Brady Kelly to principal, which came into effect in February 2025.
Kelly joined the Dark Horse Principal Accelerator Program in July 2024 and developed a tax and accounting practice, achieving annual recurring revenue of more than $250,000 within seven months.
The programme is designed for entrepreneurial CPAs aiming to grow a scalable business without the extensive personal and financial sacrifices associated with starting a new firm.
Kelly said: “Learning all of the new technology was one of the bigger challenges encountered, albeit a good one, compared to what I had grown accustomed to using in public accounting up to this point.
“Combining this with the pace at which I was onboarding new clients felt like drinking from the fire hose. I suppose they call it the ‘Accelerator Program’ for a reason. My foot was on the gas from day one. Despite the challenges, it was a fun experience and I’m grateful for the opportunity to establish strong client relationships right from the start.”
Kelly obtained his bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and subsequently earned his CPA licence.
He gained technical experience in financial reporting, tax planning, and attest services across various industries while working for a regional accounting firm.

The promotion of Kelly follows the recent appointment of Jim Fisher as an accelerator within its Principal Accelerator Program.
Fisher has two decades of experience in public accounting, specialising in tax compliance, advisory, and resolution services for small businesses and high-net-worth individuals.
