edZeb: An EdTech Startup Upskilling Students in Finance & Accounting

India is open for economic growth leading to the opening of various startups. Out of all fields especially edtech including competitors like Udemy, Unacademy, Vedantu, Upgrad, and many more. It is expected that the industry will rapidly grow to reach $29 billion by 2030. Consequently, an edtech company, edZeb, was founded a year ago, in 2023. It delivers a comprehensive suite of finance and accounting certification courses, including ACCA coaching, CFA, US CMA, and Financial Modelling, both online and offline. both online and offline. With assured job placement assistance, it promotes student growth under the guidance of a result-driven faculty.

What Led to the Foundation of edZeb 

It is a well-known fact that these days we are facing a skill shortage. The major reasons behind it could be outdated curricula, lack of collaboration and soft skills, etc. What is adding to this is many companies are rejecting employee training because they do not want to waste time, limited budget, lack awareness, have short-term focus, and many more reasons increasing the skill gap.

However, companies hire professionals and for that, practical training, specialized courses, industry-relevant curriculum, internships, and mentorship are important. This skill gap led to the foundation of edZeb. The four co-founders are experienced industry professionals – CA Amit Jugia, (Ex. PwC), CA Akhil Iyer (Ex. Google, Amex, British Council, GE & EY), CA Vikas Vohra (Ex. Bajaj Finance, ICRA & EY) and Sidharth Kwatra (Tech & Mkt. Veteran).

The founder aims to equip students with skills and practical mastery. They say that their mission is “We create experiential learning environments, equipping students with skills and practical mastery for a headstart in their career journey.”

Majorly, companies want to hire professionals having practical skills but traditional education focuses on theory leaving students underprepared for real-world challenges. edZeb recognizes the importance of developing practical skills and prepares students to tackle the complexities of modern finance and accounting roles. The Founders’ Journey

These four of them met through a common circle of friends and quickly bonded over shared experiences. They have also struggled to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical industry demands. So, now after achieving success in their fields, they felt a strong desire to do something for the youth like guiding them towards a career in accounting and finance, or making them skilled, and also wanted to teach them the skills or practicality needed in the industry apart from the theoretical knowledge they gain from their formal education. 

Creating a Solid Impact

Within a very short span of time, the founders have taught and transformed the lives of over 20K students who wished to be skilled in accounting and finance. Through our placement assistance program, many have been hired by multinational companies like EY, D.E. Shaw, and many more at more than 10 LPA as freshers. Students like Harsheta Gera and Chahat Arora have backed AIR 3, world Rank 4, and AIR 3, world rank 7 respectively.

Future Plans

edZeb is primarily based in Delhi but the founders are attempting to scale up by availing live interactive online classes all over India. In the future, they plan to even sprawl beyond boundaries and offer their coaching services in every nook and corner of the world.
