Leveraging his decades of former success in various high-profile roles, Mr. Steinberg served for five years as the Chief Executive Officer and Chair of Bolttech Mannings Inc., a Goldman Sachs portfolio company based in Pittsburgh, from 2018 to 2023.
Previously, Mr. Steinberg was the Chief Executive Officer of Inland Pipe Rehabilitation (IPR) in Georgia where he successfully navigated the company through critical phases of growth and development. Among other noteworthy roles, he was a managing director at CRG Partners (NSW CRG Deloitte), a leading consulting firm in the U.S., where he was instrumental in assisting companies with performance improvement and restructuring issues. Mr. Steinberg also was the chief executive officer of ArtSelect, a foremost internet provider of framed art and home decor products for big box retailers and home decor catalogs.
Mr. Steinberg’s early career as a lawyer was marked by his role as partner-in-charge at Porter, Wright, Morris & Arthur in Washington D.C. At the start of his legal career, he garnered experience as a Special Assistant to the Attorney General of the U.S. (under President Reagan) and Special Litigation Counsel at the U.S. Department of Justice, and as law clerk to J. Smith Henley, a groundbreaking judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Mr. Steinberg represented Ross Perot in the presidential debates litigation in 1996 and the Office of the President (Reagan) on a leading case on presidential power over executive branch agencies. Additionally, Mr. Steinberg contributed as a speechwriter during the Reagan administration in Washington, D.C.
Highly educated, Mr. Steinberg received a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Washington University in Saint Louis. Mr. Steinberg also pursued a career as a classical pianist. He performed as soloist with various symphony orchestras and studied piano with legendary pianist Andre Watts, master piano teacher Jules Gentil in Paris, and Brian Ganz of the Peabody Institute. He was accepted into the Masters of Piano Performance Program at Peabody.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Steinberg has published 5 books (3 with McGraw-Hill) on law and regulation, and has written almost 100 articles, including for esteemed publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Yale Law and Policy Review, Columbia Journal of Environmental Law, and the National Law Journal.
In light of his hard work, Mr. Steinberg’s contributions have been recognized with the Corpus Juris Secundum Faculty Award for Best Writer at Washington University and with awards from the Dante Society (founded at Harvard) and Dante Foundation for his literary analyses of Dante’s writings. His dedication to service, approachability, and persistence have been pivotal in his professional success.
