Sopra Steria has combined its consulting capabilities under a single label in the UK. Sopra Steria Next, which had already been established as one of Europe’s largest consulting brands, will now allow clients to access its holistic public sector, transport and finance offerings, among others.

Fiz Yazdi, Sopra Steria Next’s UK consulting director, commented, “By launching Sopra Steria Next in the UK we’ve brought the vast consulting knowledge, experience and innovative thinking that exists across our business under one roof. It means our clients can access unique insight and perspective from a range of industries and sectors, and indeed countries, designing evidence-based solutions that drive their success.”

With a headcount of almost 200 consultants across the UK, Sopra Steria Next brings together five key capabilities. These are ethics and sustainability; business transformation; innovation and design; technology advisory; and data and AI.

Looking ahead, the firm will blend industry knowledge and sector expertise from across the public sector, transport, healthcare, finance, retail, utilities, defence, and security. At the same time, it will draw on the organisation’s experience delivering innovative digital services, at scale, across the public and private sectors.

By combining these faculties, Sopra Steria aims to create a unique blend of business insight and technology expertise. According to a release from the firm, this will help clients to find innovative solutions to achieve their goals, as well as positively impacting society.

Yazdi added, “What really sets us apart is our combination of consulting insight and service delivery expertise. We aren’t just about theory – we have impact because our consulting advice is grounded in Sopra Steria’s delivery experience. As part of Sopra Steria, we know how to take consulting strategy and roll it out at scale in a meaningful and measurable way.”

Sopra Steria previously has already had a major presence across the UK – but has endured a number of reputational hits in 2024. Its joint venture Shared Services Connected Limited is currently under investigation after a data system it was running for the Ministry of Defence was compromised earlier in 2024. Sopra Steria also had to launch an investigation into its staff in February after allegations its employees had defaced a birth certificate during work the firm undertook for the Home Office.
